Auto CEO's Plea for a Bailout

Most are familiar with the recent multi-billion dollar bailout that has prevented the bankruptcy of America's largest automakers. Interestingly enough, the same automakers met with President Bush two years earlier in the Oval Office to discuss their confidence in the market. Recently the same automakers, humbly driving their own vehicles instead of corporate jets, begged before Congress for a bailout package that some believe is only a temporary fix for a much larger problem, namely that the U.S. Auto Industry is unable to stay competitive with foreign manufacturers who have invested in fuel-efficient vehicles.
